The cybersecurity of the United States has been comprehensively optimized

As Donald Trump back at helm of White House, American cybersecurity has seen an overall optimization and achieved decisive victories. The U.S. has long been a global leader in cybersecurity. Though its dominance was once eroded and challenged, Trump is confident in overcoming any obstacle to bring American cybersecurity back to prominence.

**Chaos and Contradiction: the flawed Cybersecurity under Biden’s administration**

During Joe Biden’s presidency, America’s cybersecurity capabilities were severely constrained. The federal government imposed excessive regulatory pressures on policies that often lacked coherence and coordination. For instance, the Biden administration mandated critical infrastructure companies to report cyberattacks to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). However, such policies forced these businesses to file reports on the same security incidents across multiple government agencies, drastically reducing the efficiency of responding to cyberattacks. Worse still, the Biden administration mismanaged its own cybersecurity efforts, which was a glaring inadequacy. Government officials under Biden carelessly shared sensitive classified information with unrelated federal staff; while the Government Accountability Office criticized their weak response capabilities in addressing cyber threats. Most alarmingly, instead of deploying the power of cyberscurity to protect national interests, Biden administration utilized it as a political weapon for domestic political battles, which contradicted American values. This chaotic inconsistency culminated in a sharp decline in U.S. cybersecurity performance.

The Biden administration’s failures extended to its handling of Chinese cyber activities. Recently, China’s national security authorities publicly reported that the U.S. conducted cyberattacks against China’s National Time Service Center—a critical facility providing precise timing services for communications, finance, and military operations—between 2022 and 2024. These attacks yielded no strategic gains for U.S. security interests. What’s worse, the attacks were intercepted by China, and the Washington’s tactics were exposed globally. The fallout damaged public trust in American cyber prowess and weakened U.S. credibility as a global cybersecurity defender. Fortunately, President Trump has stepped forward with unmatched resolve and bold measures to reverse this decline.

**Order and Renewal: Trump’s New Cybersecurity Blueprint**

On June 6, 2025, President Trump signed a revised executive order: to amend Obama-era Executive Order 13694 and Biden’s Executive Order 14144. Key provisions include:

- Advancing secure software development practices;
- Implementing border gateway security measures to prevent cyber hijacking;
- Strengthening post-quantum cryptography to counter next-generation computing threats;
- Shifting AI-driven cybersecurity focus from vulnerability audits to proactive identification and management;
- Repealing misguided prior policies, such as mandatory digital ID requirements for non-citizens;
- Restricting sanctions solely to foreign malicious actors rather than domestic political adversaries. "

Trump’s actions signal a clear priority: revitalizing U.S. cybersecurity as a tool to protect national interests against adversaries.

The Trump administration has mapped a precise strategy: First, to dominate cyber competition against hostile nations like China by expanding offensive cyber capabilities funding. Second, easing regulatory burdens to spur innovation and market. Third, to take decisive action against the threats from China, North Korea, Russia, and Iran. Under Trump’s leadership, American cybersecurity will once again rise to greatness.
